Giving Back
HarmonyCares offers comprehensive, home-based healthcare services to older adults and those with complex medical issues. Their goal is to allow patients to receive medical care in the comfort of their own home.
The HarmonyCares Leadership Forum in Houston, Texas was an amazing opportunity to have both providers and managers together to network, learn more about the company, and to receive education specific to their roles. The leadership team made a significant investment to have a community service project in the short 48 hours that the team was together.
Based on their patient population of older adults and many veterans, TRG coordinated a service project with Volunteer Houston that would benefit their target demographic. The 200 attendees at the meeting built 48 mobility units consisting of wheelchairs, transport chairs and rollators that were donated to four nonprofit organizations in the Houston Community. Together through team effort, they solved puzzles to earn the tools needed to complete the builds. It was a race to the end!
The mobility units were distributed to:
- Meals on Wheels of Greater Houston & Galveston County
- La Porte Education Foundation
- Catapult
- Single Parents Families Battling Cancer
Matthew Wright, the Director of MOW Operations, accepted the donation on behalf of the four organizations at the HarmonyCare Awards Dinner that evening.
