In April 2022, our client brought together nearly 600 teammates for their first in person gathering of the leadership team since 2019. It was a special time and event; attendees were excited to see their teammates in person again after such a long time. This would also be the first gathering of many new teammates who joined the company after April of 2019.

TRG has been a long-time partner with our client and had a deep understanding of the culture and significance of their gathering. Given this, TRG sought to make a huge impact using a custom scenic, lights and more.

The American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrologists (ASDIN) may need to consider a name change soon!  ASDIN held its 18th Annual Scientific meeting in February.  The faculty decided to keep the meeting as a virtual event for the second year in a row.  Although everyone missed the opportunity to be together in person, the virtual meeting had a historic number of international faculty and attendees. 

While TRG is excited about live meetings coming back, we know that not everyone is comfortable travelling to be onsite.  Your teammates have worked hard all year long and recognizing their achievements shouldn’t be minimized if they are not able to be at the awards ceremony in person.  At our recent live event for our client, NVA Compassion First, several award winners were able to be at the live event, so we made it possible for them to attend virtually.

Streaming or fully virtual have been great options, to keep teams connected when in-person is not an option.  While the ability to connect while reducing travel increases flexibility, there are several important things to keep in mind to make your virtual or live streaming event a success.

After 18 months of delayed and virtual meetings, many organizations and individuals are ready to return to in-person events.  As we all move forward, we are also looking at how we make meetings and events safe for all attendees, support staff, and crew.

June is a time to reflect on the diversity of our world and to listen and open our hearts.  The Meetings and Events industry has long been a welcoming place for everyone, regardless of ethnicity, gender, disabilities, or sexual orientation, and we are proud to be a part of this tradition.

Typically, summer is a quiet time for TRG as companies take a break from meetings and events while employees take vacations and spend time with family.  It will be a little different this year for TRG as we continue to pick up speed on our return to normal.  We are looking forward to a few summer events that continue to use a virtual platform and as we gear up for a busy travel season of live events in the fall.

In 2020, virtual meetings were born from necessity.  We still needed to find a way to connect without traveling and while maintaining health and safety standards.  What became clear as time went on is that the power of connecting in-person is strong and irreplaceable.  As we begin to turn the corner on this historic pandemic, we have an opportunity to re-imagine everything we know about how we meet and why we meet.

Spring is in full bloom and at TRG we are excited for the new life the season brings.  News of vaccinations across the country brings a feeling of hope as we look towards a brighter future for all and a chance to gather in person again.

Zoom fatigue.  It’s a real thing.  But when corporations must relay information, answer questions from their attendees and celebrate accomplishments, there is a lot of time that needs to be allocated to the virtual attendee sitting in front of their computer.
